As always I've added them to the sidebar and also to the Twi-Mobile mobile accesspoint.

New Twi-Mobile Members

Twilighters Anonymous

Woohoo for having our Twi-Mobile button on the Affiliate links on TA. Hey, they are a gigantic site so I'm happy to have our button somewhere. They have the most awesome contests so go check now. By the way, they don't have an iPhone icon up yet but should soon.

Strictly Rob Pattinson

Come check out this very pretty Wordpress blog. I'm a fan of her colours and she truly has a tab for every Rob related thing at the top. So organized!

Twilight Poison

Last one for today. This one deserves a special mention as it is the prettiest Twilight mobile site I've seen to date. See from my iPhone?

They made custom code for their site and it shows. Anyone wanting to pretty up their current blogs that I am helping to admin, feel free to make yourselves fancier borders and specify more colours if you want. If you really want to replicate the look of this you'll have to go the mobify.me route.

As always I'm adding these to the desktop sidebar and also the mobile jumpsite http://twimobile.prohost.mobi/

TwiPorn Library/Random Acts of Rob Join Twi-Mobile

Random Acts of Rob

I am super duper excited that Random Acts of Rob (RAOR) has decided to join Twi-Mobile. I've been following them since the first week I became a twilight fan a year ago and was introduced to fanfiction. They have the TwiPorn Library and it's seriously full of lemony goodness that you could get lost in forever. They are a mobile friendly Wordpress site but keep in mind stories they link to may not necessarily be mobile friendly on Fanfiction.net or Twilighted.net but the summaries on RAOR are mobile so you can see what you get before you move on and click. Remember if you want to convert Fanfiction.net stories to be easily read as an ebook on your mobile see my sidebar post How to Read Fanfic On Your Mobile.

Don't forget that you can add their specific bookmark to your phone but even if you don't they'll be a link to them from the Twi-Mobile mobile site at http://twimobile.mofuse.mobi/

StarLitViolets Joins Twi-Mobile

Violet Delights

Twi-Mobile welcomes StarLitViolets' blog Violet Delights. Every time I see her blog banner my mind goes right back to Kristen Stewart's voice in New Moon and I feel melancholy but happy. Sigh. Please check out her blog:

RobPattzNews Joins Twi-Mobile

If you know of any other blogs who would like me to make them a mobile site or want their mobile-friendliness added to Twi-Mobile's blogroll let me, Twilight Cupcake, know at twimobile (at) gmail (dot) com

The Pattinson Project Joins Twi-Mobile

The Pattinson Project

Twi-Mobile welcomes The Pattinson Project. I was super pleased that within a few minutes of twittering with them they had even slapped the Twi-Mobile button onto their sidebar. I love that it's under Awards & Honours because that's pretty much what Twi-Mobile is - a place to feel proud that you are mobile friendly and to stand along with other future forward sites.

Malicious Mandy's Mind Joins Twi-Mobile

Malicious Mandy's Mind

I am so happy to have our local set scouter Malicious Mandy here on Twi-Mobile. She is the go to girl if you want details on what's happening in town with Rob and the cast. The girl was inundated with questions over the weekend at the Twilight Convention in Vancouver where she helped the Twilight Lexicon panel answer questions about Vancouver.

Mobile: http://mandysmind.mofuse.mobi/

Yeah for Mandy using the new Rob button from MissAmyJoon. He looks beautiful.

Dr. Cullen's Love Shack Joins Twi-Mobile

Dr. Cullen's Love Shack

I just about laughed my ass off when the lovely ladies over at Dr. Cullen's Love Shack emailed me today to become part of Twi-Mobile. That is an awesome blog name and especially after I just had brunch with Peter Facinelli over the weekend at Vancouver TwiTour it made me smile even more (yes, I'll be posting my convention review with brunch info over at my regular blog Twilight, Travel, and Treats tonight as well.)

Find their mobile site at http://cullenloveshack.mofuse.mobi/ and desktop site at http://drcullensloveshack.blogspot.com/

Adding them to the sidebar and Twi-Mobile list at http://twimobile.mofuse.mobi/

Letter to Twilight/Letters to Rob Join Twi-Mobile

Yeah!!

Letters to Twilight and Letters to Rob have joined Twi-Mobile! Added to the Mobile Blogroll at http://twimobile.mofuse.mobi/

By the way, if you didn't know, Letters to Twilight has been picked along with Twifans and only two other twilight fansites to be at Stephenie Meyer's mini-junket before the Eclipse premiere. Awesome for them and you can read all about it from your mobile phone!

Remember to bookmark the mobile blogroll at http://twimobile.mofuse.mobi/ on your mobile and find all the mobile friendly blogs from one spot.

DreamySim1 and Walk With Mrs. P Join Twi-Mobile

Happy Mother's Day weekend to everyone. A quick note - my email has been changed to twimobile(at)gmail.com from twicupcake(at)gmail.com

I'm pleased to announce two more additions to the Twi-Mobile network. One of them should be assumed since DreamySim1 already has her own section in the iPhone archives.

DreamySim1

DreamySim1 has amazing wallpapers and since she has a Wordpress blog her site is mobile friendly already at http://dreamysim1.wordpress.com/

Walk with Mrs. P

We all know and love Mrs. P from Twibite. Walk with Mrs. P is technically not a Twilight blog but who cares? It is Mrs. P's rant blog and I love hearing that woman complain! I hope you'll follow her on your mobile site at http://walkwithmrsp.mofuse.mobi/

So go to their mobile sites and add their bookmarks to your homescreens. Of course they'll be added to the Twi-Mobile mobile site blogroll so you can just bookmark http://twimobile.mofuse.mobi/ and they'll be on the list:

See?

Twilight Blog iPhone App Icons - Collect Them All!

So every Twi-Mobile network blog has an icon you can add to your iPhone/iPod touch.

These are the ones we've got so far:

(I'm missing Thinking of Rob and Trixie & Tess because their iPhone icons aren't working and just shows a screencap - let me know when it's fixed ladies. For mofuse blogs remember it's in the iPhone settings and you need to add the URL of the image (must right click on the image wherever you have hosted it). Reminder of how to add an iPhone icon to a Wordpress or self hosted blog is here).

So even though you technically only need to bookmark Twi-Mobile at http://twimobile.mofuse.mobi/ to get one stop access to all these mobile blogs, if you want to have a couple pages of app icons dedicated to your Twilight blogs go ahead and put them on your iPhone or iPad.

How to add these to my iPhone homescreen?

To add an icon to your screen of a twilight blog just go to the mobile version of that blog and then click the + sign at the bottom of your iPhone and you should see this page

Select Add to Home Screen and you are done.

Note, Mrs. P at Twibite is helping me test if these work on her new iPad as well.

One Link to All Twilight Mobile Blogs

Recently Dangrdafne tweeted that she didn't load (I'm assuming she was referring to bookmark) enough mobile blogs on her phone for her Disney trip to Florida. That is what Twi-Mobile is for and I just haven't been doing a good job telling you all.

Twi-Mobile mobile version

The Twi-Mobile mobile site has a link to every mobile blog that has joined. So, even though you could bookmark all the blogs you love onto your phone and get their awesome icons, if you only have space for one bookmark then go to http://twimobile.mofuse.mobi/ http://twimobile.mobify.me/ http://twimobile.prohost.mobi/ and bookmark it.

See the Twi-Mobile mobile version from the iPhone? If you scroll down you'll see links to the mobile versions of some of your favourite blogs here. It's in alphabetic order for easier navigation.

More iPad and iPhone wallpapers to come. Follow Me or Subscribe by Email to get updates sent to you.

Twifans Joins Twi-Mobile!

Twifans

So Twifans, the biggest Twilight fan site, agreed last night to join the Twi-Mobile network. Last check they had 32,000 members! If you go to their regular site http://www.twifans.com/ your phone should be automatically detected and redirected to their mobile site. Of course there is a link back to the desktop site too.

Also, Alison at Twifans uses the fanfiction downloader app (made by the same guy as the fanfiction downloader software that I mention in my sidebar post) to read fanfic on her iPhone. It is amazing and I'll post about it shortly.

New Blog Additions (Updated May 2)

Super happy to have Thinking of Rob join the Twi-Mobile Network. They are the original place to find DreamySim1's gorgeous work and a fountain of info for all things Twilight. Given they are a Wordpress blog their site is mobile friendly already :)

New Blog Additions (Updated April 28)

New addition to the Twi-Mobile Network today. (All added to the right sidebar already)

Twi-fecta has joined on! They made their own mobile site and it looks brilliant. Go check them out!
Desktop & Mobile

Significant additions in recent days include Twilightish (desktop & mobile) and Twitarded (desktop & mobile). Super happy to have these big hitters join Twi-Mobile.

Spread the Twi-Mobile love.

What is a mobile blog?

If you try and read the regular version of a blog from your cell phone/Blackberry or mobile device like an ipod touch or possibly Kindle you'll notice that it's harder to navigate properly.

Regular version - hard to read

It may take forever to load and then you end up wiggling all over the screen. Or if you are using a text-only mode there is a whole bunch of extra crap when all you want to see is the latest post.

Enter the Mobile Blog - you take the regular desktop blog and just get the posts and make them into a compact easy to read version for your mobile phone or device.

Mobile version - easier on the eyes

What is Twi-Mobile?

As a frustrated iPhone user I started compiling all the mobile friendly Twilight blogs and websites into one place. I also helped to convert quite a few blogs to become mobile friendly. Thus Twi-Mobile was born.

Where can I find the mobile friendly blogs?

From my desktop Twi-Mobile site see right sidebar.
From your mobile see http://twimobile.prohost.mobi/

What if my favourite blog or website isn't on your list?

Let them know it's something you'd like to see them do and link them to this page or have them email me at twimobile(at)gmail(dot)com and I'll help them get set up.

How do I read fanfiction more easily from my mobile?

See my post "How to Read Fanfic on your Mobile." It tells you about online fanfiction.net and reading downloaded (offline) fanfiction.net and offline twilighted.net. Makes it so much easier to travel and read without an internet connection.

For bloggers

I have a blogger/website but I don't have a mobile. Does this still apply to me?

Yes, as a blogger it's in your interest to keep your followers happy right? Well, about 20% of your readers access your blog from either their cell phone or some other mobile device. This will make it easier for them to follow you while they're away from their desktops. Your posts are updated instantly as the mobile blog just gets content from your blog's RSS/Atom feed.

How do I set up a mobile version of my blog/website? What are the options? What does it cost?

For blogger blogs
Sadly there is no built in mobile site and no widget to easily add things either. Options are:

Easy, pretty, low cost $3/month - Mofuse was a company that offered free mobile sites to blogs as well as pay professional mobile sites. They shut down their free division in June. But they have discounted their starter package to just $3/month (price of one Starbucks coffee). Go to mofusepremium.com and if you sign up with discount code three it should give you that rate. The Mofuse mobile site builder is easy to use and also gives you the ability to automatically redirect mobile traffic to the mobile site. You can also monetize/advertise as well. This is what most of the Twi-Mobile members are using like myself.
Take a look at Malicious Mandy's Mind blog at http://maliciousmandy.prohost.mobi/

Free, very pretty, flexible content, need to know CSS/HTML - If you absolutely want to do this the free route then try your hand at mobify.me. It is a mobile site builder that is very flexible and gives you a lot of content control. The catch? To make it really pretty you need to have a basic handle on CSS/HTML. It is really meant for web designers.
Take a look at Twilightish at http://twilightish.mobify.me/ to see what you get.

Free, basic generic, easy to use - Google Reader
Now this ain't too pretty but it gets the job done.
All you do is add your post RSS feed URL into the text below. Then make a text link under your header or on your sidebar saying 'Mobile Version'

http://www.google.com/reader/m/view/feed/your RSS post feed URL

For example mine would be http://www.google.com/reader/m/view/feed/http://twi-mobile.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default
Click that link to see what you get. It ain't to pretty but it's easy to see from any mobile device.

For those on Wordpress.com blogs

I think most of you should know by now that you have a mobile version of your site already. When readers are on mobiles visiting your site they automatically get redirected to it.

For self-hosted blogs using Wordpress

Hopefully you'll have found a massive number of plugins available for you to choose from.

For a pretty good review of the plugins available and the differences between them check out this article at W3 Magazine.
